Is RideHero free?
Yes. Every feature described on this website is free, and the app has no ads. RideHero is still in active development, and some premium features further along the roadmap will need a subscription.
Does RideHero work on iPhone?
Not yet. RideHero is an Android app on Google Play.
Can I use my phone as a bike computer?
Yes. RideHero shows speed, distance, time, climbing and gradient in big numbers, with maps, Bluetooth sensors, spoken updates and a live tracking link, on the phone on your handlebars.
Which sensors work with RideHero?
Standard Bluetooth heart-rate straps, speed and cadence sensors, and power meters. Without a power meter, add your weight and RideHero estimates your power.
Do I need an account?
No. Without an account your rides stay on your phone. Sign in with your email only if you want backup and the web dashboard.
How do family and friends follow my ride?
Use Track me in the menu to send a live link by WhatsApp, SMS, email or any app. They open it in a browser and see where you are - no app or account needed.
Does RideHero work without mobile signal?
The ride records without signal. The map needs signal to load, and Track me points wait on the phone and are sent when the signal returns.
How do I make the battery last?
The screen backlight uses the most battery and GPS is second. Let the screen dim when you stop, use the dark theme, and fix the GPS less often on long rides.
Can I bring my rides from Strava or Garmin?
Yes. Import GPX, FIT or TCX files, or the whole ZIP file Strava or Garmin sends when you ask for a copy of your data.
Can I send a ride to another rider?
Yes. On the ride page, Share or export, SHARE WITH A RIDEHERO RIDER sends it through WhatsApp or any app. They ride it as a ghost line and compare afterwards.
Can I export my rides?
Yes. Any ride exports as GPX or FIT from the end of the ride page.
How do I delete my account?
In the app, Menu, Account & settings, Account & backup, DELETE ACCOUNT. Or on the dashboard, Settings, Delete account. Rides on your phone stay on your phone.
